Receiving a photograph of an x-ray showing the broken arm of one of the reintegrated street connected children is never a nice way to start your Friday afternoon team meeting. The child is recovering well and has his arm is now in a cast, which is no doubt earning him cool points at school. What is however encouraging, is hearing that he broke his arm whilst playing…. Play is such an important part of any childhood. Typically when a child starts to play with others, he is feeling secure in his surroundings and within himself. Play is a great sign of a successful reintegration.
